The Christian Canon:  It is written in the bible to "test all things and hold fast to that which is good".

The Canon, similar to other sacred texts found in other religious organizations ... is a commissioned and agreed upon encyclopedia of books, codices ... drawn from history, various cultures, writings, literature, poetry, proverbs, myth, oral traditions ... It should not be done away with, but recognized for what it is.

Books were voted in and others were voted out, in a similar manner in which the American or most any other political process works - which should give each of us pause! The modern effort by those who know better, is not to simply do away with 'what we refer to as God', the truth or the Canon(s), as some have argued, augured or concluded in various circles.

The real motive is to simply pursue all of what is real, the truth, and for the sake of all humanity to encourage the intolerant to do the same (understanding the flawed nature of the human beast that is often accompanied with its own self-serving motives, faults, misunderstandings, sexism(s), flawed governance and foibles). We will not only advance as a people, I suspect, but in addition to the former, eliminate strife, division, sectarianism, crusades, fatwa's, Jihads, ignorance, racism, stratification, the hindrance that has been applied to advancement (and for kicks, the Republican Party) ... what is your response?

And what is it that I believe?  It is to simply seek what is true, and permit it to find you.  I also believe the Budhist proverb which states, "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear".  Always, take the responsibility for your life, seek after what is real and never outsource the responsibility for your life or its outcomes to third parties and institutions - even the individuals or institutions with the best of intentions.  Many have done so already, and lived to regret it, only to discover their mistake, when it was too late to recover from 'their mistake'!
